Congratulations to Kratos for character of the month! This character has taken on quite a challenge as a new alpha, especially dealing with all the pack members at once. This character obviously has the skills he needs to be a great alpha. We can't wait to see what you do with your large pack, Kratos!

Pulse

Oh how the mind works. Fishing it's way into places unknown, coming up with thoughts of it's own, evil, evil thoughts leading to evil, evil intentions, murde...

With a snap of his head the brute was awake, breathing heavily, paws twitching some. He glanced around quickly, to and fro, before slowly standing.

I have to get rid of those dreams. He thought silently to himself, shaking his dark, nearly black gray pelt, his striking, glowing yellow eyes piercing through the darkness that threatened to put it's strangling hold on him. Fighting it away.

Across his left eye, a scar crossed over it, red, bald, and intimidating, it stood out against his fur, crossing over his eyelid, and a small speck still remaining on his eye from the terrible incident.

He sighed, pacing back and forth for a moment underneath the arm of the large tree, before stepping out into the full moonlight, his fur rising in falling in wave patterns as he let the feel of the darkness and the moon's power over sweep his large bodice, closing his eyes and tilting his nose towards the sky as he continued this for a moment, before opening his eyes once more.

" Maybe a little run will tire me out. " he said aloud to himself, springing into a full out run, darting through the grass stealthily, and leaping over a small creek, running for a while longer, before stopping at a large flat rock jutting out of the ground, and taking a seat on it, panting.

And everybody knows, knows, knows
The highway comes so high-igh-igh-igh
Past the skeleton crows, crows, crows
On those towers of dime-ime-ime
And we were singing.....

NO. NO. WHERE'S YOUR FACE?
WHERE'S YOUR BONES?
WHERE'S YOUR VOICE?

Oh. There it is!

Well, it wasn't exactly... a voice.
It was a broken, echoing vile roar that barely clawed it's way out of her spiderweb-filled throat, impaling itself on her exposed glistening teeth. Along with the dragging, pitch-challenged string of syllables, spit and phlegm shot out of Ajax's mouth like fire from a canon - burning as she emptied her stomach onto the ground. HORRIBLE.

Bile and chunks of half-digested meat, a few berries. Delicious.
Gagging again, Ajax walked - well, she stumbled, staggered away from the pile of her stomach's previous tenants.

A trail of spit, opalescent multi-colored shimmering saliva trailed off of her jaws, which were wide open and gaping. The dangling pendulum of spit swung back and forth, back and forth with each irregular intake and outtake of Ajax's shallow breath. Her neck strained, slowly rotating her narrow sunken face back and forth across the landscape. Staring - no, staring is too tame a word - glaring into the distant sky that bled itself into the sunrise. Empty infected cuts of bright yellow rose stealthily into the sky, bringing with them light. Ajax hissed. Glowing, pulsing claw-marks of daylight slowly widening and taking over the sky.
It was horrible. HORRIBLE.

What was?
WHAT WAS?
FUCK. IT'S OBVIOUS. (Or it should be. Pay attention.)
The sun.
SUN.

SUN.

SUN.

HORRIBLE.
More bile rose in her throat now, but there was nothing left to hack up except for a few more chunks of meat that hid behind her teeth and in her cheeks. More spit and digestive juices overflowed her now tightly-clamped shut lips as pain wracked through her head, fire-bursts of red exploding spasmodically behind her eyelids as she tried to keep them clamped as tight as her lips - away from the sun. Lowering her head, Ajax pinned her ears to her skull and fished out the rogue pieces of mostly-digestive flesh with her tongue, re-swallowing them quickly. It went down easy. Easier than the first time, at least.

The sun was rising higher in the sky now, at least half of it, maybe more, peeking up over the mountains in the distance. Shrieking, Ajax cursed her brother. He God-damned Warbler. For leaving her all on her own, under a fucking berry bush of all places, to go out and play. And leave her... what? At the mercy of the sun? Bastard! Fucking unbelievable bastard!

In her anger, Ajax's grey-blue hued wings shot out at her sides, creating a rush of wind behind her. Her neck swung back spastically, trying to hide behind the feathers, hide from the sun as her eyes burned, seemingly sank back into her skull, spinning and trying to escape the harsh reality of night and day. Failing miserably at creating herself a shield of pigeon-feathers, Ajax contorted, arching her spine, kicking herself off the ground and into the air. Up off the ground, she turned away from the sun. But of course, disoriented as she was, still wailing miserably, babbling about this that and the other thing, she flew about as good as she walked.

(which was not well at all)

Swerving back and forth, her head rolled back and she plummeted, her wings getting ripped upwards, her body spinning as she hit the ground.

Now. I'll never pretend to be good at math. But, it seems that I may possess just the tiniest bit of common sense. About a hundred pounds of wolf (wings included), added to the force of gravity, and the accumulated momentum from what was at least a twenty-foot drop.... well, it can generally amount to something bad. If not something interesting.

Her eyes closed, on the ground, the same pitiful cry was still keening highly deep from in Ajax's throat, the shrill cries of pain constant, unmoving. Her wings hurt - the rush of the fall having rotated them nearly out of their sockets, her ribs on the left side throbbing through her thin skin.
More nausea swept over Ajax as she tried to get up, but then simply stopped, relinquishing herself to the sun, the horrible, horrible sun.

Or.... maybe not?

Her eyes wide now - she wasn't even trying to keep the damned sun, her pupils were obnoxiously wide, almost completely covering her bright, acid-green irises.
There was shadow, just yards away from her. Cast from a large rock. She could see it, straining her eyes, reeling dizzily as constant shots of pain traveled through the nerves in her eyes to her brain, making her want to cry out again. But now she was silent, hope blooming in her chest, and she wriggled her way piteously forward in the grass. Standing up shakily, she whined, jarred by the sudden movement. Whining loudly, her spit-coated tongue lolled out of her mouth as she stumbled forward on painfully awkward legs. She was dizzy - so dizzy, her eyes rolled in the sockets. She could barely remember where she was now - and certainly didn't remember what exactly she was doing standing up, walking around, in the sun - or what she was heading for.

But Pulse reminded her.
Reminded her as he ran up, and perched on the rock, completely fine in the sun.
Fuck him.
Fuck that wolf.
Giggling as she took another step forward, Ajax rolled her head to the side and didn't even realize it when she spoke out loud. "Fuck you!" Her voice was breathy, strained, barely recognizable when compared to the cocky, rough, entrancing sound she was used to.

WHERE'S YOUR FACE?

So close - so close. Another step, and Ajax reached the shadow underneath the rock, underneath the wolf she'd now forgotten - never having realized she'd insulted him - the coolness and semi-darkness soothed her. Falling to her side again underneath the boulder, she wheezed out another strained cry - and bugle almost, a mixture of triumph and pain. The sound ripped through her with a suddenly decorative, primal distinction, though it seemed much quieter and hushed than her earlier screams. But, she didn't keep it up for long. The howl broke off in a high reeling whine as she stretched herself out, keeping her wings close to her sides and shaking her head back and forth warily, another drop of spit falling from her mouth to the grass.

Opening her eyes in mere slits, Ajax took in a deep breath, and collected herself.
'CONTROL YOURSELF!' her mind screamed, and she nodded, almost imperceptibly. How could she have done that? Lost control of her body - her mind, her eyes like that. Of course, now that she was out of the sun, she'd quickly blocked out the intense pain that had snaked through her entire body, had invaded every small vein and cell with a degree of fire that it felt like she was going to burst into a colorful explosion of fourth-of-July-fuck-me fireworks, each small fairy-light a different shade of pink, or red, to match her guts. The lining of her stomach. Grey, for her brains. Maybe some green for her eyes?

Pretty.

Sitting up suddenly, Ajax blinked a few times, regaining her bearings. She kept her eyes open only the the smallest bit - almost closed, but not quite.
Looking up at the ridge of rock above her, Ajax glared. Imagining that she could see the wolf she knew was perched arrogantly up on top, right in the glare of the sun. Stupid cocky fuck. She growled, leaning down and wiping her mouth on the ground, leaving behind a trail of spit, snapping up a mouthful of the crisply sour grass to improve the taste left behind on her tongue from her own digestive juices.

"Well, you day-walking son of a bitch? Get the fuck down here already, asshole." She could smell him, lightly. Her senses were still a little haywire, her ears twitching when she told them not to, her sight still spinning annoyingly, still tasting day-old rabbit that had been stewing in her intestines for the past few hours.

Her warbler had abandoned her.
A b a n d o n e d. HER!
The nerve!

So now - now she needed a new one. Or at least a temporary one - until Aerodox found his fucking mind. What could have possessed him to run away like that? Leaving her stranded underneath a berry bush. Fuck him. She'd waited there for an hour or so, thinking he'd come back after his silent escape. He'd been restless ever since they'd arrived in Dash. Hell; her brother was always restless. Always thinking, too. Thinking, plotting, quiet, ever-present.
He needed an attitude adjustment.
Or a good long fuck.
Either or, there was no way she would stand for this abandonment, this blatant disregard for her life and her comfort.
"Fuck him," she said again out loud, snorting, and sitting up a little straighter. (Though she winced as she tried to straighten her wings, and found it impossible. "And fuck you too," she called up around the rock, her nose twitching uncomfortably as she got blasted fully with Pulse's unwelcome scent by a sudden breeze.

'FUCK YOU.' Somewhere, in her mind, she said it to herself.
Because, well, it was true wasn't it?
She was underneath a rock.
And eventually, the sun would turn, and the deliciously dark, cool shadow would go away. Fucked. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, please," She whined, suddenly realizing that Pulse might be the only wolf around here for miles. Making him her only chance at getting out of here. "Please please? Please? Pretty please? I'm hurt - horrible hurt, my eyes, please? Could you help? Please? Her voice was thick, like honey, but intertwined with a small sparkling glint of her usual devious outlook, possibilities running through her head.

"Please?"

OOC;
CHARACTER(S): Ajax
LYRICS: Jaguar Love
THOUGHTS: ...... Sooo..... I got a little carried away.
But fuck. This was fun. For anyone who doesn't already know, Ajax's
pupils are larger than normal, and they don't dilate as they should.
So, basically, when the sun comes up, her eyeballs/sanity completely fry.
:3 Uber-fun.

Pulse

Little ones to him belong,
they are weak but he is strong...

Striking Yellow eyes has just began to close as the sun began to rise. Finding it a bit refreshing, the sun beginning to warm his coat from the chill of the night, even though it was summer, and he could deal with it, the dawn of every new day comforted him some.

He'd always been wondering what the other wolf like creatures were like in Dash, he'd heard stories, but had always envisioned a beautiful wolf with wings of white and almost elf like characteristics. Boy was he wrong.

His head snapped to the side as he heard a terrible scream, standing, and searching for the source in the high grass, but even though he was up a bit higher, he had to search for the creature, and when he saw, he was practically frozen to his spot.

What the heck?

He asked himself, dipping his head a bit, and trying a few angles to look at it, not really able to get a few good looks, he watched as what seemed like a she...-creature, struggled towards him, or at least it looked like she was, he backed up a few steps as he watched, wondering what in the world the problem was.

He watched her struggle towards the shade from under the rock he was on, not really realizing that's what she wanted until she was practically there, and by then, there was no need to help her get what she needed. Even so, how was he supposed to know that's what this creature needed? He didn't even know what was the problem was yet. He listened to her cursing underneath the rock, a bit taken aback by her words.

He listened to the silence after a moment, and listened to her pleas of help. Compassion briefly swept over him. Fuck me?...hm, that makes me want to help someone...why? he asked himself, going over the words in his head, and sighing, jumping off the rock, and past her underneath the rock by a good distance, still not sure whether or not she had intentions of eating him alive or not.

He turned, studying the creature underneath the overlap of the rock and the ground, his head dipped lower to study her. He could see her clearly now, she had wings, but they looked a bit mangled obviously having been hurt in someway or another. He looked at her face then, watching her for a moment, before taking a hesitant step forward, almost afraid to go any further than 7 or so feet, which he was at.

" What do you expect me to do? You don't look like you'll be leaving from under this rock for a while...and how do I know your intentions are not of killing me? " he inquired, pacing back and forth along his invisible seven foot boundary, his eyes never leaving her body, but soon drifting to her own emerald green orbs.

His bright yellow eyes pierced into hers for a moment, revealing his scar on his face, his dark pupil small in the daylight even, much different from the way hers had been. His eyes remained unblinking as he looked into her own eyes, before letting them study the rest of her face as he continued pacing slowly, obviously just unsure.

((Ick, nothing compared to yours FB. ;D )

Darkness, quiet, hushed; not a sound was made by any creature, not a rustle, nor stir was caused by any living thing. Noise was a sin, a crime to commit against this serene desolate place where pure, beautiful silence blanketed the land with a tranquil, soothing hand…

’Crack’

Who dared disturb the quiet? Who was bold enough to destroy the tangible peace that hung on the promise of all being silenced. No one. But it is nobody important, nobody even worth mentioning. A female, a normal female and nothing more. Not a god, not a winged or spiked animal, not a male or ruler of any kind. No. A female, and a clumsy one at that. One who had happened to stumble, once again, where she was not wanted and where nature had already built up walls against her arrival.

’Crack’

Another twig broke because of her ignorance or… perhaps insolence?

’Crack,’

Yes, certainly it was on purpose now. No wolf could be stupid enough to alert their presence so many times without knowing some other creature would hear them. But what had she to gain?

Nothing

No, the better question was… what had she to lose? And the answer to this was strikingly similar to the first…

Nothing

Nothing except another chance to be the stick in a foot, the pain in the neck, the unwanted one. She almost reveled in this opportunity, a small scale attempt at rebelling against something perfectly planned out. After that though, she was silent. Her gray paws quietly brushed untouched Earth, nails lightly scratching the tender surface of the rock beneath her. Low to the ground, a fleeting glimpse of the white vixen was caught, before she shuttled back behind trees and vines again. Cream colored, pretty, almost entrancing to look at, but with ears too big for her head and a muzzle too small; eyes too large, almost calf-like, absorbing too much and reflecting too little. They selfishly sucked in the light from around her and refused to shine any of it back. They were a dull silver, highlighted when the moon caught the grey strands of her pelt that streaked her back and sides. A silver tipped tail seemed to complete her overall Moon-like appearance. The moon, how unlike it she was and yet… it almost suited her. It changed without notice, without reason. Upon its own path, it was smaller than the sun, and seemed to serve no purpose except to be marveled at as a mystery. It held silence, and yet it was the moon that was gone to for council and wisdom.

”…And yet, no matter how hard they stare at it, the moon will always be the moon and they will live and die without knowing why it beams so brightly, when it has no hope of outshining the sun.” Her first words in this new land. Her voice was low, soft, tender. For the faults of her larger ears and smaller snout, her voice was something beautiful and pure. Delicate. As though it was rarely used and saved for special occasions. It was a decoration and only brought out when there was little danger of having to share it too much. So her maw closed and she sat, for, despite her words, the moon transfixed her as well.

"Fuck!"

What was it now? She snapped her head around. Seclusive, she had been waiting in the darkness. Cloaked by a shield now ripped open, torn and clawed apart by two impending beings. Two wolves. Ah yes, now she could smell them. Delayed? Eh, the moon will do such things. However, now her senses were keenest.
'Male, new here? Possibly, and a female. Ugh,' She inwardly recoiled. So much hate. Was she a mind reader? Hardly. But she was usually pretty good at picking up on things like character. Call it a sixth sense.

She stood up, lightly brushed off her pelt and turned milky eyes (blind? never, but milky just the same) towards the source of the racket.

She took a small step forward, enough to announce her presence.

well.

if they were paying attention that is.

She took another until she was close enough to the male to be included in the gathering. She was more interested in observing, after all, that's what she did. Observed and was observed in return. She asked for no more, and was never given anything else in return.

Win win eh?

Peaceful look, almost dumb, but her eyes... somehow expressed intelligence trapped and hidden. Or perhaps... stored, selfishly kept. Greedily locked away, as if she was scared of sharing it. Scared? No, that wasn't it. Perhaps apathetic would be a better way to describe it. Yes, the apathetic smart worlf.

ha, original? Hardly. But her way of expressing it was quite unusual.

But hush now, the play is hardly beginning and what kind of audience is distracted by details such as originality?

Well well well, where has this beast's legs taken him this time? It seems to be… a valley… but unlike the packlands that he himself has resided in, this one holds many scents and scents of those whom are very familiar to this large black beast. A smirk crawled onto his lips as he shook his head with a light shudder. Oh Ajax would be looking down on him now… was he not supposed to be rehabilitating? Fixing himself so he was not so… as Ajax bluntly pointed out… even knowing it was probably at the cost of her life… weak. The male snorted and sniffed the air instead focusing on what else was residing in the wind. He must not get distracted… maybe coming here was a bad idea. And the male would find out in just a few moments.

Well it was his own stupidity really, coming into an open valley, where there is no shade… nothing to block out was what really coming. The sun… hmm well it was not so horrible… his eyes are used to the night so they take longer to adjust, but they eventually do. The thing that bothers him is his skin, and his black as a black hole-like fur. His skin… has not seen a full blast of sunlight in about 5 and a half years… well yes for about 20mins at a time but that has not helped his albino like skin which feels like it is on FIRE when the rays touch it… of course his black fur does not help one bit. But he has a high pain tolerance. And surviving is what this male is good at… when he is in the right mind.

The dark male breathed in deeply, and a musky scent of another male stung his nose, he snorted violently and took a step backwards his larger than life… blanket of night wings outstretched ready to fly away… he did NOT need this… especially if this young male was a feisty one… he did not need another life slipping through his jaws… the feeling of sweet tangy blood leaking into his mouth. Drool dripped down his maw as he folded his wings against his flanks once more. Hmm… maybe a peak won’t do him much harm. Another scent filled his muzzle wiping away the imaginary blood and a sadist grin spread across his wolfy lips… is that the scent of … Ajax… of that puny bird… his queen? Well no not his but if she is the queen of the night… than he is the King… reigning supreme over her. He was no jester.

The large mixed brute chuckled as he brushed off the rising sun’s stinging fire. He will go see what the problem was, no fighting… no gushing blood… no fun. Just a peak and to laugh at Ajax… whom was probably groveling at this boring male’s paws. A female… a normal wolf scent hit his nose… Well, well what was this? Fresh meat?

No.

No FUN, remember dear Gol-

A snarl ripped through his throat then, “That piece of sh!t of a female,” he grumbled, the one who calls him Gold… he glanced at the bright… shiney crown on his shoulder… reflecting the sun… the opposite of what the rest of his fur was doing… sucking the light in. She recoils from his simple marking and since then called him Gold. But his name… was much greater than that… better. King was his name and the night is where he ruled. With a light prance in his step… which seemed impossible considering this brute’s massive size. (compared to normal anyway)

He made his way to the others lifting his head to the sky letting rip an arrogant howl through the air… dark blue oceans gleaming with mischievousness. Will there be any fun for this male this morning?

Possibly.

Well Ajax was probably… wimping out at the moment… well he would get a laugh.

An arrogant male stood on a rock… and his tail rose instantly and his teeth bared. ”What is this, Male? Picking on an innocent bird?, may I cut in?” He glanced towards a femme who seemed to want to make her pathetic existence known… he was much more important. ”Step down femme… this is not a place for someone as delicate as yourself. he called in her direction with a snarl, his wings spreading to make himself seem, larger… which works, they are at least twice the size of himself. His deep dark blue oceans glanced about… has he caused any shit yet? A sadistic grin spread across his muzzle.

Oh he hoped so.
